Transactional Legal Assistant / Paralegal – Stevens & Day, LLP, Augusta, ME
Augusta Maine law firm, Stevens & Day, LLP, is seeking a part-time to full-time professional to support the firm’s general, transactional legal practice. Candidates should have an attention to detail, deadline focus, and ability to work independently. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required; familiarity with Clio a plus. Notary Public also a plus. Formal paralegal training not mandatory.
Substantive legal areas:
- Trust and estate administration
- Estate planning
- Basic real estate transactions
- Small business formation
- Summary legal proceedings (i.e., evictions and collections)
Job responsibilities include:
- Drafting and proofing legal documents
- Administrating and tracking progress of estates
- Organizing and tracking client files
- Opening new client matters
- Limited research at Registry of Deeds
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and public entities
Compensation commensurate with experience ($18.00 – $24.00 per hour). Benefits include:
